Hi! My name is Sean Farley. At 45 years old, I am finally beginning to find the value in who I am. I am finding the courage to reinvent myself. My mind, my health, my life. It’s important to me. This fall, I will be an undergraduate student of Literature & Writing – I will probably be the oldest guy in class! I don’t see this as a detriment, I see it as a benefit. The degree is not a necessity – it’s a goal. Something I have wanted for myself for the past twenty years. I am petrified, but I am excited, too.
I aspire to be a writer, certainly – but I also aspire to be better. Let’s face it, I’m not getting any younger. My health is important to me. Physically, emotionally, mentally. I have a beautiful 7-year old daughter I need to stick around for. Believe me, she’s a handful. My partner of 20 years is with us on this roller coaster; the twists and turns are brutal. It sure is a fun ride, though.
This blog is just my way of accounting for my day-to-day life. Nothing more, nothing less. There is no overarching theme. One day you might read about my frustrations with school. The next it might be a post about my aching joints. Maybe a recipe (I love to cook!). Perhaps a workout I’m proud of. Whatever the post, it will always be honest, and it will always be ME.
Welcome! I hope you decide to stick around.
